Sofiana Lindemann’s research focuses on processes at the interface of semantics and pragmatics, including anaphora resolution and information structure. Sofiana completed her dissertation work at the German Linguistics Department at the University of Stuttgart, Germany in July 2011. Prior to that, she was a visiting scholar the the Department of Linguistics at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA and she received a Magister Artium in German and English language and literature at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, in July 2007. She held positions at the University of Stuttgart (2007-2012) as well as at the University of Köln, Germany (2012-2015). She is currently emplyed at the department of German language (linguistics) at the Transilvania University of Brasov. Selected publications:

Dr. Madalina Matei Role: Senior researcher Contact: madalina.matei@unitbv.ro Mădălina Matei’s research is mainly focused on pragmatics, discourse markers, functional linguistics, sociolinguistics and discourse analysis but also touches upon such areas as cognitive linguistics, ELT and ESP. Her research endeavours aim at offering a comprehensive view on various linguistic phenomena through an interdisciplinary approach which would thus manage to uncover as many facets of language use as possible. Mădălina obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the Transilvania University of Brasov, Faculty of Letters, English major-French minor in 2003. In 2004 she was awarded a Master’s Degree in British Cultural Studies from The University of Bucharest, Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures and in 2006 she was certified as a teacher of business English by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 2011 she obtained her PhD in Philology title from the University of Craiova with the PhD thesis entitled A Pragmatic-Functional Approach to Discourse Markers. Mădălina Matei is a Senior Lecturer at the Transilvania University of Brasov, Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics where she teaches ESP and Grammatical Structures, and a Lecturer/Trainer at the National Institute for the Training and Development of Lawyers (INPPA) where she teaches Legal English and Public Speaking. Corcotoi Marta, M.A. Role: Project member Contact: marta.corcotoi@unitbv.ro Marta graduated with a BA degree in Psychology at the Transilvania University of Brașov, in 2019. She completed her studies with a Master`s degree in Clinical Psychology, Psychological counselling, and Psychotherapy in 2021. During her studies she showed interest and implication in research and academic competitions such as: "Proiectul meu de diplomă” - 2021 Edition, whose dissertation thesis was funded by Transilvania University of Brașov (https://unitbv.ro/studenti/administrative/proiecte-interne-pentru-studenti/proiectul-meu-de-diploma.html). Her work on ”Systematic review regarding the efficacy of Neurofeedback treatment on population with insomnia” was presented at different conferences, such as: "Absolvenți în fața companiilor” – 2021 Edition and "Sesiunea de comunicări științifice studențești” – 2021 Edition (https://afco2021.unitbv.ro/lucrari-inscrise/sectiunea-vii). At present, she is in the process of publishing an article based on her MA thesis in collaboration with dr. Ana-Maria Cazan from the Transilvania University of Brasov, Romania. |
Minea Vlăduț, student Role: Project Member Contact: constantin-v.minea@student.unitbv.ro Vlăduț Minea studies Romanian-English Literature and Language at the Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania. His study is focused on general linguistics and the language of contemporary Romanian literature, mainly that of poetry. Also, he is involved in organising cultural events at the Multicultural Centre of the university. |
